I’ve been with Perfetti Van Melle for more than 18 years. I started my journey as a Management Trainee and have had the opportunity to work across eight different roles and three different functions at various levels. These experiences have been extremely enriching and have helped me grow not only as a sales leader but also as a human being. Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to work with great teams, brilliant individuals and people who are passionate for creating impact

Ever since I joined PVM back in 2011 as a management trainee, I have been a part of 2 major transformation journeys in the past 7 years. Our attitude to question current practices, taking bold steps and finding the best innovative solution has always kept us in action. I believe that there is a strong sense of ownership that is deeply rooted in every individual that fosters the result-oriented culture in PVM.

I joined PVM in 2007 as a Management Trainee. I joined the Sales team post the management trainee stint and got an opportunity to work in multiple roles across locations over the next 5 years. In 2012, I accepted an international stint to work on our SMINT and Mentos brands which are loved across the globe.
I moved back to India in 2016 as the Trade Marketing Manager and have recently moved to Marketing. During the course of my journey I have made some great friends whom I first met as colleagues! I have had the opportunity to work across multiple roles, locations. This has made it possible to interact and learn from the best in the industry and grow as a professional.
We are a fast-paced, dynamic organization with an entrepreneurial culture. I have the freedom to create out-of-the box solutions at every juncture.
As a management trainee, I got the opportunity to travel to & work in all the zones of our country. During these 6 months, I was working in the field as a DBSM, PSR, DSE, ASE & ASM which gave me a unique perspective of consumers at various levels in different markets across. Post the training period, I was appointed as the Area Sales Manager for Central & Eastern UP. I worked in sales for close to 2.5 years and then got an opportunity to move to Marketing. For the past 2 years I have been working for different brands. The management trainee stint helped me in understanding various sales roles in detail. It also gave me unique insights on consumer preferences and market behavior. The structured feedback from seniors and meaningful interaction with colleagues helped me understand the importance of team work. I loved the travel and interactions with people. I feel extremely happy and proud to work in an organization that gives me the opportunity to freely share ideas as well as to make a significant contribution to its’ growth.
PVMI is a place where one can learn, grow and have fun simultaneously. With passion & Innovation embedded in our culture, at PVMI, an individual gets numerous opportunities to holistically evolve as a leader for tomorrow. My Journey at PVMI started with a management trainee program which gave me a detailed exposure to the sales functions and an overview into multiple verticals of the organization. This helped me to understand interdependencies between various functions. Post my management trainee stint I worked as an Areas Sales Manager in Uttar Pradesh for close to 1.5 years. This role not only helped me gain a good understanding of the sales vertical but also sharpened my managerial skills. Currently I am working as a Brand Manager in the marketing team where I feel privileged to work with a highly experienced and an amazingly helpful team which collectively aims to bring innovation to what confectionary can do. I am surely looking forward to a fruitful, fun-filled and a never-ending chase-of-my-dreams at Perfetti Van Melle

My career at PVMI has been a continuous learning experience. In PVMI, the culture of one family and helping each other has been a key factor in developing my skills and understanding the complex FMCG industry. As a company, it is very employee friendly and ensures that people are not only happy in terms of work culture, but also focused on career growth. In my short span of a little over 2 years, I have been given the chance to work across different functions and learn as much as possible. PVMI definitely has one of the best Management Trainee stints. It gives you a chance to work across all verticals in the first 9 months and develop comprehensive understanding of processed across spectrum. The best part of working with PVM is the joy of being associated with brands that are loved by people across age groups.
The best part of working at PVM is the learning one gets. From day 1, I have been given opportunities to learn Sales across different demographies – from urban and rural markets in West to North before taking charge of Jharkhand (East). This has helped me gain understanding of different markets, cultures and ways of working.
I have been empowered to deliver. Achieving 105% Secondary Target for three consecutive months in 2018 and winning the ‘Gold contest’ is one memory which is close to my heart.
In this short tenure, I have not just learnt about sales, but I have got a flavor of marketing as well. I am learning the ropes of managing a team effectively and am supported to tackle various situations that pop up in day to day work.

My tenure is filled with several fond memories. I feel extremely proud of achieving highest market share for PVMI in Rajkot in the month of June 2018.
The freedom given to me to think for myself by my seniors and the support provided by colleagues really helps me to strive for more. The transformation that is taking place, and the idea behind it is giving me a chance to innovate for my own territory & streamline processes further.
If you are looking at having serious fun, this is the place! It helps, of course, that while having fun you deliver work that others benchmark themselves with. Innovation and fun are the two words that describe us the best. In 2001, when I joined as a management trainee, PVMI was a relatively small FMCG with about 250 CR turnover. My journey has been fabulous since then. The company is now one of the most respected FMCGs with a strong leadership position in confectionery. Learning is immensely helped by change and that is where PVM culture with innovation at heart comes into play. I started as sales manager in East and moved to West region subsequently. This was the time PVMI brought innovation to distribution by developing very relevant P1/P2/P3 model for those times. This was followed by an exciting stint in marketing where I worked on some extremely innovative ideas like a crocodile eating Alpenliebe. Subsequently, I worked as Branch Sales Manager for North region and then moved on to a role which entailed setting up the trade/ shopper marketing team for the organization. My current role entails giving strategic inputs for continuing and growing PVMI’s leadership in the Indian market. Our brand building work remains iconic. Through my tenure with PVMI, I have been provided unparalleled exposure to the business and its nuances which gives me the confidence to handle any business challenge effectively.
My stint with PVM didn’t start as a management trainee but as a consumer at the age of eight, relishing Alpenliebe. I didn’t know then that I will end up starting my professional career in the same organisation, as a Management Trainee. It’s been a dream run since. Right from the start, I have been given challenging opportunities to learn sales across demography from South to North India. As a management trainee, I worked on a couple of marketing projects as well which gave me macroscopic view of how the brands operate. Post completion of the Management trainee stint, PVM entrusted me with one of the largest ASM territories in India, with a team of 61 people. I have been empowered with autonomy and freedom to take critical business decisions. I almost feel like ‘CEO’ of my area. Our systems and emphasis for execution gives one unmatched exposure. The peer group makes the working environment a very conducive one to learn and showcase your skills.
I topped the performance charts for my Branch in Q2 2018 and won an iphone alongwith Gold as a part of ‘Go for Gold’ contest. At PVM ‘Unwrap your potential’ is not just a slogan but a motto that is practiced on a day to day basis.
